The following represents the GIS Activities and association memberships I have joined or been a part of since finishing the course work portion of the Applied GIS Bachelor at SAIT.

Work/Practicum Experience: Paramount Resources Ltd. - 15 years

Role: Geological Technologist
Teams: Development and Data Analytics

My time with Paramount both previous to the practicum and during it has been a growth opportunity. Working within two teams has given me a broad understanding of the company and its goals from a variety of perspectives and allowed me to complete spatial and non-spatial projects.

I have created numerous maps for most groups within the company ranging from geology to surface infrastructure allowing colleagues to more clearly tell their story.  These maps have involved using existing data, sourcing new data as well georeferencing and digitizing data from various maps or images.

Beyond the basic mapping, my time with the Data Analytics group has required a strong understanding of database concepts and scripting in both R and Python. This role has also built a stronger understanding of statistical methods and visualizations of data, including spatial visualizations.
